My Dress is in plus..all the other ramblings of recent

I am pretty excited to say that YES! My Dress is Here! I have to go down to Roseville sometime this week or early next to do a final fitting then bring it home. I think I am going to ask Katie if I can keep it at her house. She had a nice big basement where charlie never goes, and we would be able to hang it high enough that it wouldn't be bunched up in a closet somewhere.

I haven't seen my dress exactly. I said this earlier and someone looked at me like I was crazy. I actually tried it on and it was White with Silver and Lavendar beading. I didn't order it in this color. I ordered it in Ivory with Silver beading. So I am excited to see it, since even though white doesn't look amazing on me, it still looked good in the store. I can only imagine how much more complementary the new color will be.

Michelle, from Lori's Bridal in Cold Spring called me yesterday. She said the ship dates for the bridesmaids dresses are late July/early August...with emphasis on the August. The flowergirl dress ship date is about the same. I am going to start scoping out a good seamstress for alterations soon. That way I can give the girls options, plus be ready to fit my dress. I think I am going to have a Bra sewn right into the dress, if it needs it. I have a few friends that have done this and it worked wonders. I am also trying to wait as long as possible to have it altered.
This might sound nuts, and anyone who knows me understands that I only run when being chased, but I am thinking about taking up running. I have been working out early in the morning before work, and everyone tells me that running is the best for weight loss and fitness. I do realise it will take baby steps. 1 min on the treadmill and I am sure to pass out. But I am hoping to build it up to anywhere between 45 mins & 1hr. I am starting to not just look forward to working out, but I almost crave it. It's crazy. If only I could crave things like baby carrots. Then I would be in the money. lol.

I chose 5 cake designs at Cold Spring Bakery. They are going to mock up the 5 cakes and we are going to put pics of them on the station website (www.wildcountry99.com). Listeners will be able to vote on which they like the best to "help" me decide. Then they can also enter to win a $250 special occasion cake from Cold Spring Bakery. I am going to have a cake buffet. I plan to have multiple double layer cakes (most likely 8") all in various flavors. People will be able to choose the type of cake they would like. Some of the flavors include; Lemon, Mock angelfood with Fresh Strawberries and whipped cream, Chocolate with Raspberry filling, Almond with chocolate fudge, White Cake with Almond Frosting, the standards..white..chocolate...marble. The best part is that Lynne at Cold Spring Bakery is going to bake up some of the combinations and in the last two weeks of June bring them into the studio for me to try and talk about them. So if you're coming to visit, I highly recommend the last two weeks in June! Lol!

Flowers are going to be beautiful. We have chosen 3 varieties; hydrangeas, cream roses & bells of ireland. They are very earthy and pretty. I think we are going to be a little rustic with the setup too. We will have a variety of vases/jars for the flowers on the tables. Everything from ceramic pots to mason jars. They will most likely be surrounded with the brown grapevines and small white votive candles. All of this on top of a chocolate brown tablecloth. The only thing I might do is see if it would be easier to make brown runners. The tablecloths are 10.00 each to rent, and if we can get the materials cheaper and make them, I think we might do that. But really, 10.00 each isn't that bad since fabric can be really pricey.

I have heard rumblings that the ladies are trying to plan a wedding shower/bachelorette here in St. Cloud. I am catching wind since they are all like. So...are you available ....on.... lol. It's really flattering that they think of me and are willing to do all of this. I know that a shower and stuff seems to be a given when getting married, but I really do appreciate it.

I am registered at Macy's and Williams & Sonoma. My mother thinks I need to register at Target also. She thinks Macy's pricepoints are too high for the most people. I can agree with that to a point, but at the same time Target has given other brides I know a little trouble in that there products in store change so often they are always updating their registries. I am going to go over to Target, hopefully with Charlie and start a Target registry. The hard part is figuring out what to register for. hmmm.

Charlie and I are trying to cut back on costs quite a bit so we discussed our wedding bands this weekend. Originally we were going to get a band for Charlie and two bands for my ring. But, to save a little green, we decided that I will get 1 band, Charlie will get his band, and we will get the 2nd band for me next year for our 1st anniversary. OOHHH! I just said 1st anniversary...I am starting to get really excited about this whole thing. I know...i'm a dork right? lol

Charlie and I were busy last weekend with our Catholic Marriage Retreat. We went into it thinking...oh boy..here we go. A whole weekend at church. Even my boss, matt, when I asked for the weekend off, put it on the calendar as "brook with god" ha! When we got there it was really great. It not only helped us to see things in a different light, but I think it reminded us why we fell in love in the first place. I was also surprised to see that the Catholic Church's view on sex and married love and such was really positive and encouraging. I expected, for some reason, to see a nun with a ruler telling us sex is bad and to make sure to eat our potatoes. But honestly it wasn't anything like that at all, even though we did have mashed potatoes at the catered in lunch.

Charlie and I also took our Engagement pics on Saturday. They went way better than I expected. It's funny because everyone gave us crap because we didn't pick the cheapest photographer out there, but the way she worked with us is proof in the pudding why we worked with her. We will see the proofs this Thursday at 5p at Jane Bailey Studios. Get in touch with me if you want to join.
