You can learn a thing or two from your fellow brides...

Having gone to the wedding of my friend and coworker just a few or so ago, I have come to a conclusion: I HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO. I almost feel like I am just throwing things up against the wall to see what sticks.

I now know why people say that Bri and I are alot alike. Her wedding was everything I have dreamed up in my brainstorming for my own. It was the same elegance that I am looking for. I took multiple pictures and am going to put together a collage for their gift. In taking the pictures at the ceremony, I have realised that there is so much to do. There are a lot of details.

Decorations aren't just decorations. They are linens, place settings, flowers, place cards, candles, favors...and on & on. I am truly excited for this process. I just have to make sure that I stay on schedule for the most part. The only way this will all be worth it, is if I have most of it done early so I can just sit back and enjoy the day.

The wedding took place in Melrose, MN at St. Mary's Catholic Church. It was the perfect setting. They incorporated pheasant feathers and beautiful fall colors. They had a ton of fun and a ton of beautiful details. I took some notes.

1. Decorations were elegant and beautiful, but not overpowering. They let the beauty of their surroundings shine through

2. Place cards were used for each person attending. The color of the placecard indicated their menu choice.

3. Instead of using more florals for decorating the head table, they had colored vases waiting when the bridal party arrived. They placed their bouquets in the vases to decorate the table.

4. Simple can be More! They placed organza ribbon tied in a knot with the ties hanging down on each chair. This was less expensive than chair covers.

5. Candles were purchased already in glass. Saves on the cost of buying votives and glassware separate.

6. Bri had everything done for her. She didn't have to worry about anything other than getting married and enjoying her day with Carl and their friends.
